Gene Campbell
received his bachelor’s degree in art from Marshall University. He was
involved in a family-owned business for a period of time but after the
sale of his business interests the door opened for him to pursue his
passion to paint.
Gene always uses people as the center of his subject matter. His
exuberant, textured, and splashy works on large canvases with their energy and life
have quickly attracted attention in showings throughout the midwestern,
eastern, and southeastern states. While many of his earlier pieces were
in oils or watercolor, he has gravitated to acrylics which are better
suited to his bold, colorful, impressionistic style. In his commission
work, he also can incorporate the patron’s likeness into whatever
setting they desire, as well as customizing colors to compliment their
décor.
His
development as a top artist has been birthed by his God-given talent
coupled with a unique ability to capture mood and passion. Gene’s work
is marketed mainly in juried art festivals, galleries, and
internationally thru Sothebys.
